Restaurant Week 2015

The Oconto Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored “Restaurant Week” April 19-25. There was total of 1000  votes  cast to choose the “Restaurant of the Year 2015.” Customers were given slips to fill out at each of the following establishments that chose to participate in this Chamber activity. The Chamber is pleased to announce that Wise Guy’s Riverside Bar is this year’s winner. Guy VandenHeuvel, owner, has received a plaque from the Chamber to display in his business.” Guy’s Riverside Bar, 106 Smith Ave., was voted as having the best Prime Rib, barbecued ribs and various Friday fish items such as walleye, blue gill, perch and salmon. Cory Lightner won a $25 gift certificate as part of their own drawing. Oconto has many diversified establishments that serve food and each is unique in its own rite.

wise guys      Crivello’s at 818 Main St. was voted for its stuffed hash browns, chicken on their Sunday buffet, and their Jack Daniels burger as well as many of their other sandwiches.

Benjamin’s, at 303 Brazeau Ave., Oconto, was voted as having the following favorites on their menu: Meat Lover’s Skillet, Haystacks, 2 +2+2 Breakfast, Lasagna and Hawaiian Pancakes. There were 3 winners who received a gift certificate for a meal from Benjamin’s: Donna Volk, Ron Filter, and Phyllis Duschene.

Irish Greens at 2946 Logtown Rd., Oconto,  makes one mean Philly Cheese sandwich according to its customers. But other favorites were their Friday Fish specials and their 2 for $25 specials on Wednesday as they offer great tenderloins and porterhouse steaks.

Wagner Shell at 517 Smith Ave., Oconto, was voted as having the best broasted chicken, a great breakfast sandwich, breakfast pizza, macaroni and cheese and cheese curds. Their special drawing was won by Mike Bickle who received a 4 piece chicken dinner.

Wayne’s Family Restaurant at 805 Brazeau Ave.,Oconto,  is the place to go for awesome pies, country breakfast, French dip and waffles.

The City of Oconto is fortunate to have all of these eating establishments with such diversified food. Why not try each and every one of them and recognize them as being an outstanding 2015 Oconto Area Chamber of Commerce member.

 

Spring Fever Business Expo

The Oconto Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored its 8th Annual “Spring Fever” Business Expo at the Bond Community Center on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Over 47 vendors displayed their products and services. Vendors and attendees were able to purchase delicious food items from  Brothers 3 and Irish Greens. The Chamber would like to thank the Bond Community Center for hosting this event once again. The admission to the Expo and the money from the raffle basket will go to the Oconto County Historical Society. The Chamber wishes to thank all the businesses that contributed a gift item for the raffle basket which was won by Al Schreiber.  The following businesses and organizations exhibited: Abrams Spotlight Productions, Aspera Care, Avon Products by Patsy Bake, Bay Impressions, Bayshore Community Academy,  Bellin Health, Bond Community Center, Brothers 3, Butler & Co.
